The Village of cheddar is a short 30 minute drive from Applebarn Holidays via Glastonbury, Wells and the A371. Alternatively you can drive through Wells and Wookey Hole and up to Priddy and arrive in Cheddar village via the Cheddar Gorge. Either way has great views of the surrounding countryside.
The Village has several pubs and restaurants as well as ice cream parlours and sweets shops. There are many different little shops to explore along the main Gorge road and of course all of the attractions of the caves.
Cheddar Caves are an excellent activity for all of the family and a single ticket allows you entry to all of the caves and jacobs ladder and lookout tower as well as an open top bus tour of the gorge.
If you don’t fancy the caves themselves you could always walk the cliff tops or stop at the many places throughout the gorge for a wander. It’s a lovely day out but can get very busy in the height of Summer.
Available Services. Cheddar has a Sainsbury’s and Tesco Express and a very large car boot sale is held at Winchester Farm just outside Cheddar every Sunday with entry being £1 per car.
